The police officer will ask you for your driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
You must give him this information.
If you are borrowing someone else’s vehicle and are not sure where the information is located tell the officer and give him the information that you do have.
The police can also ask you to step outside of the car.
You can and should ask why you are being asked to step outside the car.
If there is passenger with you the law enforcement officers may ask the passenger questions and compare their answers to your own.
But remember, beside identification and vehicle information there is no question that you or the passenger need to answer.
You should request an attorney and exercise your rights to remain silent.
